Seminar: Zahlendynamik

Project seminar; Winter 2003/2004
Aachen & Cologne University of Applied Science
12 weeks (with 8 hours per week)

Aim

Topic of this project seminar examines "design with algorithms". Using programmed rules for transformations, mutations and processing dynamic forms will be created on-screen. Interactivity, data visualization and animation will be studied.

These formal studies and principles will be used in own projects. A collection of building bricks, formal strategies and schemes will be defined.

Objectives

The objective of this course is the application of programming knowledge to in experimental design tasks. Novice programmers will have the time to elaborate and solidify own skills.

Outcome

Students developed an online tutorial covering programming topics like binary arithmetics, lists & arrays, geometry, fractals, trigonometry, chaos and 3D programming. Furthermore a number of experimental designs were created and skills were used in applied prohjects.
